Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Mowed the front last night and put down fertilizer on the front and back yards since rain was forecast. Also put down some pre-M in the front since I had aerated some areas recently. Got lucky and got a good rain early this morning. Seems like every time rain looked like it was coming recently, that it would just miss us.

No posts since 3:00 yesterday ? Heat must be keeping everyone inside or too busy mowing.
As for me, between yesterday evening and today the pro plugger and I had some fun taking care of some bare spots in the back yard that weren't quite good enough to fill in this summer. I'm not sure if the plugs will fill in before the warm weather parts, but at least it will be a decent start. Also mixed up some spaghnum moss and sand and top dressed some thinner areas and back filled where I pulled the good plugs from.

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Gave the front an unneeded quick snip.
Very excited that my oldest daughter has told me today she wants to take care of the back yard. She wants to learn how to mow, edge, fertilize and water correctly so when she moves out in the next year she'll also have a nice yard. She mowed the back yard today. I couldn't be more proud!

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Well, came home from work this morning and cut the grass on 2
It looked pretty dang good according to me, I put milo on about 3 weeks ago and it sure has greened up.
So I thought, "eh, why not go to 1.5, everyone on ATY seems to think lower is better" so I did, and was highly disappointed!
It wasn't as green as it was at 2" so that sucked. So then I went to HD and got 3 bags of Milo for half price because the bags had slight holes in them but they are still full put 1 bag down just now and watering it in right now. Yard is definitely getting there. I have put about 900 IBs of sand down to level everywhere. It's getting smoother

I love those 50% off bags of Milo!

Nice Improvement
Hey Shuff, nice improvement! Consider this a mid-season scalp - it'll look great in a week or two. Nice work!

Backlapped all THREE heads, installed optional tall brackets and adjusted HOC to .700". Spread 118# of Andersons 17-0-17. Sat back and watched mother nature put down .25" of rain. Life is good!

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Deathatched / removed remaining St. Augustine using the flail blade Bluebird then raked up all the debris. Next dropped the rotary mulcher to its lowest setting and went over everything to clean up what remained. After that scalped using the Tru-Cut and put down Milo and Nitrogen. Finally I put down Princess 77 seed in the bare spots that removal of the St. Augustine left.
Going to look like crap for a week or 2 and my neighbors probably think I have lost my mind but hopefully worth it in the end.
Oh, and I backlapped on Wednesday so I guess I was ahead of the curve on that. I will try and hold off a few extra days next time

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Some good a bad news. Good news: rained close to 2" last night. Bad news: power went out via storm. Went to pull generator out of the garage to get some lights going and ran into my foot while wearing flip flops. End of story is now my big toenail is hanging on by a thread. It's going to be a sumbeach mowing 13.5k this afternoon

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
More bad luck was mowing with the TruCut by the road. Hit a rock and snapped the main chain I'm going to call the city tomorrow and see what they will do to replace it, probably nothing but worth a shot since they swept the street and put a ton of gravel in my hell strip. I raked probably 95% of them back into the street but it's hard raking gravel out of 1" Bermuda.
