Thanks Red, like Forrest said "$h!t happens" broke out the manual reel to finish it up, the 220B isn't getting anywhere near the gravel although a new reel and bed knife for it are less than the trucutsRedtenchu wrote:Dang, sorry to hear about your bad luck J_Nick

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
Came home from work yesterday and did my daily walk around of the yard to find water bubbling up main line from meter to house had developed a .6 GPM leak, at least that's what the meter was reading. Dug up around a 3x3' hole to get down to the line. A 45 elbow had pretty much broken in half, luckily I had everything I needed to fix it on hand from leftover sprinkler system parts

Oh that sucks! Digging a 3x3 should have been a treat if that 0.6gpm had been leaking for any amount of time. Mud hole.

I was able to dig most of it although it was heavy. The rest I was used a small bucket. We have pretty sandy soil here so not much mud just gritty. TEC is at 7.5. Once I filled it back in the ground was like jello, wondering how long it will take to firm up.andy10917 wrote:Oh that sucks! Went outside and admired my Princess 77 seedlings starting to sprout up.

Started loosing the battle with my storm drain, so I used the drill to punch a few holes and watered it in really well. I'll be giving her a cut tomorrow.

Ran the sprinklers early this morning, first time this month not to bad for August! Gave the yard a double cut this evening. Starting to see some spurge and Dallisgrass in a few places

Crabgrass
Walking the dog through the neighborhood yesterday, I noticed a lot of crabgrass in people's yards. It got me to realize that this is the first year I haven't had so much as a single blade of crabgrass this year. Now, maybe my HOC between .5 and .75 has something to do with it, but I want to think that it has to do with the Prodiamine that I put down for the first time this year. Last year there was a lot more than I would have wanted, but this year, none. If you are one the fence about what to put down on the grass, I'd take another good look at the effectiveness and price of Prodiamine.

I have had bare spots from my mini reno but they don't grow weeds. I attribute this to the Prodiamine I put out earlier this year. Guess I will find out soon as I am not able to put out my second app because of the newly planted seed.

Gave the front lawn a cut, but used the collector basket. The extra weight up front really made a difference in the cut in a few spots, a lot less bouncing of the mower.

Reset my HOC @ 0.375 and gave it a cut, not much rebound yet. I did some spot leveling, and watering it in now.
Few pics of the leveling areas.

Rain
One way to get it to rain in North Texas in August is to spray PGR and then spot spray with my Celsius/Certainty combo. You're welcome, Dallas!
