Could use a closer picture, but based on your location, season and what I see in the picture it's probably Poa Annua. A close-up would help confirm.

Looks like Poa Annua to me too. It'll die out when the weather starts warming up.

Poa annua. Next fall you might want to put out a pre emergent so it won't spread and get worse. Deminsion and Stonewall are two that are very good, and last a long time. The problem is poa annua mainly germinates in the late summer/early fall (there is usually some germination in the spring as well) so you missed the major germination. A good preemergent plan for poa annua is applications in the early spring and early summer before soil temps drop below 70 degrees. Another issue is that some poa annua is perennial, so it won't die in the summer by itself.

It could be ryegrass. Was your lawn ever overseeded in the past? Look at the seedheads. Poa annua doesn't grow very tall compared to ryegrass.

Re: What is this growing in my Bermuda Grass
Thank you all! Another question because where this is growing the ground is always moist and has some moss in this area. I believe because against this part of the house it doesn't get much sunlight and holds water in this area. I have done some research and found to add some sand/compost to this area to help the soil better. I have already tried to reseed this area and didn't work. I plan on aerating this area in a couple of months and also wondering if I should buy some sod to lay down against the house in this area but not sure if that is the best idea.

Make sure that it is Moss you're dealing with - many people call Algae, Moss, Mildew and Cyanobacteria ("blue-green algae") all as "Moss". The solution for one is not the same as the others.

Re: What is this growing in my Bermuda Grass
I agree with Andy that knowing exactly what the problem is will help you find he best solution. But, I do think there are some things you can do, no matter what the specific issue is. For example, all those things that Andy listed occur in wet areas that often stay shaded -- and your description of the area certainly fits the bill. The way I see it, if the conditions favor something else over grass, why not grow something else? You certainly could try to make the area suitable for turf growth, but if that's impossible or too expensive, maybe something like taking the turf out of that area and putting in a rock garden or growing some shade-tolerant plants there would work. It might give you something that's attractive and requires less effort than trying to grow grass in a tough spot.
Just a thought ...........

Maybe try a little grading away from the house so it does not hold the water?aharrell4 wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2017, 1:25 pmThank you all! Re: What is this growing in my Bermuda Grass
Good idea. So I went ahead and added some sand and soil along this area and seeing what happens. I think I will have to add some more later cause it seems the water is running off the roof even though there is a slope going away from my house in this area.
