St. Augustine - Brown Spots!!!

Post by GoneRogue » May 20th, 2017, 6:26 pm

I laid 9 pallets of sod about 4 weeks ago. The grass is mostly looking great, it gets plenty of water and is rooting itself well. However 4 spots have started to brown. They're about 2 feet in diameter and all in fairly close proximity to one another. The photos don't really show the contrast well, the spots are more profound in real life. :banghead:

Any thoughts? Thanks guys!

Start with a screwdriver test -- make sure that there isn't a rock a couple of inches down.

Done. No rocks at least 8 inches down.

With the bright color around the edge of the area, it appears to be brown patch/large patch.

Classic brown patch disease. Off the shelf fungicides from big box stores or garden centers should take care of it.
