Dead spots in bermuda lawn, ants?
Hey guys,
Last year this area was pristine after grass came out of dormancy, but this year there is no grass growing in this area. Instead there are a bunch of weeds, even though I used prodiamine this year in early spring and last year during labor day.
I went to pull away some weeds today and noticed some small ants under the weeds and where the dead areas were and no ant hills. Could this be due to the ants invading that area?
I have a bottle of Fuse (Imidacloprid and Fipronil) that I used on ant hills last year that worked well.
I also did the screw driver test and the soil is very supple.
Thoughts?
Thank you!

I don't think it would be ants causing this. Maybe a chemical burn from fertilizer or a fungus?

Also, try the soapy water test to rule out grubs. Pour some soapy water on the area and wait to see if grub worms make their way to the surface.

Okay thank you. Im not sure if it was chemical burn, because it just never came out of dormancy. It wasnt like it was green in March and then went dead.
