St Augustine grass disease?

Post by Raulito » June 16th, 2017, 8:37 pm

Good evening. I am a newbie to the forum so any help you may provide is very much appreciated! I have St Augustine grass and for the first two seasons it looked great. This season I see divets all throughout my lawn. Is anyone abl to identify what it is and a potential solution? Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Could be either bugs or fungus. How much water or rain have you had? To much water will bring on the fungus. Any brown spots on the leaves (an indication of fungus)? Have you done the soapy water test in the evening to check for bugs? It doesn't look like cinch bugs. They'll usually take out a small patch and then expand out as they multiply. What have you done up to this point? Any heavy applications of fertilizer (nitrogen burn)?

That is weird looking. For now don't do anything until we get a little more information about it.

What is your watering schedule? How often and for how long do you water?
How high/low do you mow?
Have you fertilized this year? What did you use and when?
Have you put anything else on the lawn like herbicide, insecticide, or fungicide? If so what did you use?

Post an overhead picture of the divots. Are the spots a dark gray and matted?
