Bermuda bible for Florida.

Post by spencer777 » August 30th, 2017, 6:12 pm

Hey guys and girls. I killed off my St Augustine and am in the process of converting to Bermuda. I read through the bible, but I have a few questions. First my grass stays green all year, so do I need to scalp? And if yes when should I. Second, we can't fertilize from June till October. Is there something I can subsitute? Third can I stil fertilize in the winter if the grass stays green?

  • No need to scalp.
  • Can you use organic fertilizer in the summer? If not you could overdose it with organics in late May. Apply one week at 15 pounds per 1,000 square feet and do the same the next weekend. Organics will not hurt the grass. Who imposes the restrictions?
  • Yes, continue to fertilize as long as the grass is growing.
If you don't fertilize it will not die. It might thin out a little and the color will lighten, but it will be fine.

Also it's time to update your profile with your brand new grass type :yahoo: :yahoo:
