Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Admire it?? With the grass finally stopped growing and the weeds thinning out, now I can see how far the stolons have extended themselves into the yard. I'm looking forward to 2018 to watch it thicken up between the extensions. My lawn is an exercise in patience which started with less than 50 square feet of actual lawn grass in the summer of 2014. Both front and back have filled to 1/4 of the yard being dense enough to keep weeds and other grasses out. With the 2017 stolons it should be at least 1/3 coverage next year. Optimistic would be 1/2 coverage.

Scalped my Bermuda yesterday, took three cuts to get it down. Put down pre-m, sprayed the few winter weeds around the edges, put down Bifen for grubs to keep armadillos at bay, treated a localized area for snails. Also sprayed 2-4-d on encroaching St A to stymie it.... Spring has sprung albeit February!

St Augustine is all green now. Mowed the south facing yard on Mar 17. The north side is not tall enough, but it is all growing.
Have not had to water yet. We had gotten .3 inches total of mist over about 10 days prior to the mowing. Got 1.9 inches in Feb.
Weeds are looking great!

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Applied my first lawn feed with Milorganite (6-4-0, I believe last year it was 5-2-0). I use the standard warm season holiday feeding schedule. Also, I could not find any yard pics for 2018. I enjoy seeing pics of great looking lawns. Can we get that started for 2018? Or is it as simple as making a new thread...???

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Laid down my first application of micros (Boron, Copper, Zinc) along with first (ever) Milorganite treatment. In April I used Lesco 15-5-10, which greened the grass up quick - I'm very interested to see what the monthly app of Milo does this year moving forward.
Gonna apply a foliar FAS treatment this weekend (high pH of 8.3-8.5 and iron deficient soil).
