Wow...just goes to show the stores will sell you anything just ned to know what to get...
So I will return the sulfur and pick up the 21-0-0. I will do the soil test by next weekend and send to LL asap...
Much appreciated as this is why I joined and now I really look forward to next year!

Re: New Guy Trying to Learn
21-0-0 can go down at 5 lbs/K, and has some (mild) acidifying effect - but on a calcareous soil, the amount of acidifying is like spitting into a hurricane wind. Another mantra to remember: you cannot cause significant chemical change in a 2,000,000 lbs/acre soil (the real weight of soil to the 6" depth) with 50 lbs of ANYTHING, and it's even more true when there are situations like your's.

Re: New Guy Trying to Learn
Well that almost sounds helpless! Im sure that when we get the soil test a plan will come together that yields better results than I have been able to achieve thus far. You have spent a lot of time with my issues and its appreciated ! Last question for now:
Which do you recommend the 46-0-0 or the 21-0-0 for now? Im good with nothing at all as well

I like 46-0-0 Urea, but that's because it's not hard to get here, and 21-0-0 is harder. And $$$/K it's cheaper here.

At Texas A&M, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na and S are extracted using the Mehlich III method.

Re: New Guy Trying to Learn
ctrav, I was responding to your comment that you weren't sure what method of soil testing Texas A&M used. It seems that there was a delay between when I typed the comment and when it finally showed up on the board! : )
There are several different soil testing methods out there. Mehlich III one of them. Some labs let you specify what method you prefer. Each method has its strengths and weaknesses.
