Back with a new Bermuda project
It's been such a long time I tried going to the old bestlawn site! To bring everyone up to speed I renovated my lawn from fescue to zoysia in 2011. Here is that thread. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3725&hilit=zoysia+fescue+to+zoysia
Once the zoysia took over there wasn't much to deal with. We get enough rain I rarely had to water and I fertilized once a year in may.
Fast forward to 2018, we came across a house just outside the city with several acres. Last year was all about the house. This year I'm on to the lawn.
There is a lot of common Bermuda on the property so as much as I loved zoysia that would just be too big of a battle to fight. I am trying to focus mainly on the 1 acre surrounding the house. I purchased a pallet of tifway 419 and planted it in a few strategic locations so I can make my own little mini-sod farm.
2 things I need help with
1 - What is the easiest way to propagate the Bermuda? I have cut some plugs.like I did with the zoysia but maybe sprigs would be better?
2 - I have a lot of this green weed stuff growing. Ant ideas on what this is and how to kill it? I have sprayed weed-b-gon but this is pretty thick and I'm not getting it to die. Should I just wait until spring and put out some dimension prem and then sprig/plug?

Very much so. That's exactly what crabgrass looks like when it's dense and maintained.

Re: Back with a new Bermuda project
wow I wouldn't have thought so either because it does look so uniform. this is also right below our septic drain field so it is well-fed weeds.
Ok that explains why the weed-b-gon didn't work, I need the version with crabgrass control. Will give it a shot. Thx!
