Feb 2023 and they're selling bermuda seed

Walked through Lowe's and Home Depot yesterday and saw bags of bermuda seed for sale. If you want to buy seed now, fine, but keep in mind that spring is not the time to seed bermuda. Wait until the heat of summer, say, June, to put it down. But also, if you think you need more seed now on your dormant lawn and are tempted to make the purchase, by the time June rolls around you will have a completely different circumstance. If you water, mow, and fertilize it right, by June it should be completely filled in, and you won't need the seed.

If you have a hybrid bermuda lawn, like TIF 419 or other TIF varieties, you should never apply bermuda seed. Hybrid and seed varieties are so different as to appear weedy when they are mixed. Seeded bermuda sends up shaggy looking seed heads about 7 days after mowing. Hybrid varieties have no seed heads and look fine after a week.
