Has anyone bought some BayState this year? If so do you know what the going rate is?

I need to make a trip too. I plan on putting down what I have left from last year, about 8-9 bags, tomorrow. After that, I'm out and need to make a run!

Picked up my stash a couple weeks ago and the price has not changed. $3.50 per bag.

I split a ton with my brother in law but 25 bags just didn't feel like enough so I bought 6 extra. Carl can be very accommodating. He met me there on a Saturday morning because it was the only day that worked for me.

Picked some up today, still 3.50 a bag. Tough to beat.

Is that a 50lb bag? I thought we had it good here at $6.99 for a 50lb bag of Oceangro.

How long does it take from the time you get there, load up, and pay? I am hoping to fit in a trip between the kids softball games.

Very quick. Back right up to the garage, he'll help you load up from 10 ft away, write the check and you're off.

That's exactly what I've done. In fact, Carl likes to hear that we are talking about Bay State online, obviously it's good for business. Let him know that we all here on Around the Yard (I still think of it as Best Lawn) like his product a whole lot and appreciate him going out of his way to meet us on Saturday mornings.

Anyone in CT going up there? I'd be interested in splitting a load and covering costs

Are there any places in Mass that sell this stuff or do you have to go direct to the facility?

Carl was saying the the current actual numbers are closer to 6-6-0.

For anyone making the trip, here's some more detail on where to go. Although the address is 551 South St, it's actually located behind the 551 building. You need to follow the signs for NEFCO (New England Fertilizer Co.). When you drive in, the big brick building #551 is in front of you- drive around the back, then through the open chain link gate following the railroad tracks. The tracks go into a silo, stay to the right and follow the alley straight. There is a door/loading area in front of you.

I don't think there are any yet, but he told me he was working on that when I went there last year. They were working on getting plastic bags so that it could be sold in stores, most likely at a mark up though - Maybe $6-7 instead. Still cheap though.

I hope if that does happen, we're still able to pick it up right from the source for $3.50.
