Nature's Guide Humate for BL Kelp Help with Humates?

Post by darinbrown » May 14th, 2017, 12:06 am

looking for a local source of Humic Acid for the BL Kelp Help with Humates. I came across a 40-lb bag of granular humate from Nature's Guide but didn't have my phone to snap a picture of the label but it stated 70% humic acid. The stuff usually sourced for the BL Kelp Help appears to be around 80-86% humic acid but I can get a 40-lb bag for $24.99 locally. anyone have any experience with this particular product? any reason why it shouldn't work in the BL Kelp Help with Humates formula even if I have to add a few more ounces to account for the lesser %?

I'm not going to be able to answer your direct question but I offer this. I just bought a one pound bag of HA for $18..... that will give me some good mileage on a 30k sqft lawn....40# and you could do a golf course!

Since that disparity exists, it might not be what you need.....or you found an incredible deal!

There are zero standards for what makes a quality humate product, so unless you are prepared to do a few years of side-by-side testing (and telling us the results!), you're best to stick with one that has had a good deal of luck from many forum members. Don't take the word of a one-post Johnny...

You could apply it as a granular. viewtopic.php?forum_uri=soil&t=21253&start=
