Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Anyone buying enough of the biofungicide "Serenade" that the costs of buying it a quart at a time is a real pain? I've located a source that could make the price around $80 for a 2.5 gallon size. That would be half the cost if you can use that much.

That's not bad. I was getting it off ebay at 20 a quart shipped.

Yes! I've been looking for that too! Is the product Serenade ASO? Have you ever compared that to Rhapsody? Any info you can send me would be appreciated. Thanks Andy!

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
No, this is regular Serenade. I'm also looking into the newer products like Sonata and "Serenade Soil" for Rust control. Fortunately for me (unfortunately for testing) I have no Rust problem to test these products.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
I'd be interested. I was planning to use Serenade to hopefully prevent the fungus issues I had late this past summer into the fall.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
I could definitely use 2.5 gallons next spring. That would give me 10 apps. I'm hoping that will be enough to help keep the fungus away.

Hmmm... does this stuff work well on Brown Patch? It killed half my lawn last year and I thought I'd have to stock up on Heritage G and Eagle.

It can help if used as a preventive.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Sooo... I'd likely need to use it weekly from mid April through Sept? Is that right? Says it needs to be applied every 4-7 days. Is this the best option?simpson wrote:It can help if used as a preventive.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Serenade claims to control Brown Patch, but I've never had Brown Patch, and therefore can't speak from personal experience.
As far as when to put it down and how often, I'll look up my application plan - it's a little complicated, but nowhere near as much work as every 4-7 days.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Here's my current regimen:
I start May 15th (probably earlier is smart in Georgia).
I use 2 oz per 1000 sq ft applied every three weeks when applying as a general preventative.
If conditions seem right for fungal development, I go to 3 oz/K at 14 days. Sometimes 4 oz/K if conditions are perfect.
If I see fungus on my lawn, I might go to 3-4 oz/K at 7 days, but so far I've never had to go to that.
I start scaling back at Labor Day and quit on October 1st.

Is serenade effective in prevention of Pythium blight?

Yes.
Please folks - let's not go over the diseases one-by-one. There is a great new product on the market for answering questions like this - it is called "Google". We love to answer questions, but let's save it for ones that can't be easily Googled...

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
I looked up Serenade, on google as you suggested, seems serenade soil is listed as controlling pythium, but not the other 2 serenade products? Here is the link for those interested in controlled diseases http://www.agraquest.com/agrochemical/p ... e-soil.php

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Ah, Han, NOW you're getting to the questions that aren't easily found by Googling. AgraQuest has a gazillion products, most of which are 1.34% of the same exact Bacillus. Some say "not to be used as a soil drench" and others (like Serenade Soil) ARE specifically for soil drenches. Same raw product, different labelling. Very confusing. Great products that confuse people means bad marketing.

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
SOOOOOOOOOOO, considering I had my very first small outbreak of a fungus this season{pythium},which of the 3 products would you recommend if I want to prevent it coming back next year, the soil drench product?

Re: Anyone Using Lots of "Serenade"?
Sorry to confuse you further, but if it were MY lawn and the target were Pythium and I could only afford one, I'd pay more attention to the Phosphite products than Serenade. I love Serenade, but it's a "me too" against Pythium, whereas the good Phosphite (not Phosphate) products target Pythium like a laser.
If the budget can handle it, they work well together...
