Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Got my sprayer today, first thing was to remove the wand and then i took mine off my hudson sp0 i built from dfw's write up i removed the cf valve from the hole setup. Then put the setup on the 20v. I Ran a gallon through it and it works well no problems. Dont think ill ever pump a sprayer again!

Now I know why "Customers who purchased this item also bought...." always contain completely random, unrelated items. Lowe's will probably recommend pencils to future buyers of the Chapin.

Deluxe Straps...
Just opened mine and spotted the difference between the Lowe's model 63989 and the Amazon model 63985 right away...
The Lowe's version doesn't have the "Deluxe Padded Shoulders for prolonged use." They look like this:
I'm a little disappointed, but it looks like Chapin sells the nicer straps on their website for ~$25... also, the Amazon model is back up to $170 today.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Nice catch, Ware.
I was poking around at pictures on Amazon and looking at the actual unit shipped to me from Lowe's, and something didn't seem quite right. You nailed it!
I wonder if there are non-Chapin straps which would fit as well. Going to have to do some research on that.

Is there a problem with the ones included by Lowes?

Ive never had any comfort issues and I have the regular straps. I wouldn't put too much thought into it

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Got my backup as well. Appreciate the deal links.
Ware, could you link the replacement deluxe straps? I searched all over chapins site and could not locate them. The standard straps have been fine....totally manageable, but for $30 or so, the improved straps would be a nice upgrade for me.

I think it is probably these, but it may be worth a call to Chapin. You can mouse over the photo at the link I provided, and it looks like the clip on the bottom is the same (snaps around the tubular frame on the bottom of the sprayer).beedix wrote:...Ware, could you link the replacement deluxe straps? Report back if you order them and they work. Anxious to hear if they are better.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
According to Chapin, the straps for the 63985 are not deluxe.
Edit. Well there sems to be many models of the 20V sprayer. The manual for the 63985 is actually for the 63980. So the above statement is false. The straps referred to above are for the 63980/L63989. The 63985 comes with deluxe straps.

My 63985 did not come with the Deluxe straps. it came with the ones that look like the picture you posted for the Lowe's one. I'll post a picture this evening.

Here is another difference between the 63980/L63989 and 63985. The 63980/L63989 comes with a 1.5Ah lith-ion battery, while the 63985 comes with the 2.0Ah.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
I love this thing! I've sprayed patch pro and cyonara 9.7 through it so far, about 12 gal total. Probably around 1.5 hrs total and not a single problem and the battery never died or felt week. I got it calibrated with a teejet tip to 1gal per 1000.

Just put down Serenade and TKO Phosphites (separately) in 18G of water. Love the sprayer and the straps seemed comfortable enough for me.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
I picked up a Chapin 20V sprayer this past weekend. I have it coupled to the TeeJet AIXR110025 purple air induction nozzle (for preventive fungicide application) but I think I will up-size to the blue or red next time I use it.
