Not too long ago. May 20. Forgot to post pictures, but it has the crappy straps, not the premium ones. Still works great though. Just messaged Chapin's customer service, so I'll see what they say about it.LoneRanger wrote:When did you order it?gijoe4500 wrote:My 63985 did not come with the Deluxe straps. it came with the ones that look like the picture you posted for the Lowe's one. Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
modified mine a little, i love this thing! so i got my wand installed with a
TP8004-VS Teejet VisiFlo Flat Spray Tip (brass) witch gets me right at 1gal per 1000sqft then i removed the straps off my hudson sprayer and put them on. i actually enjoy spraying now, when i had a pump sprayer i always had to walk through my pass i just sprayed. now with a swivel on the gun and not having to pump i can just walk and switch hands for each pass and stay off the last pass.

Could you also look at the battery and confirm the Wh rating?gijoe4500 wrote:My 63985 did not come with the Deluxe straps. it came with the ones that look like the picture you posted for the Lowe's one. I'll post a picture this evening.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Personally, that looks like deluxe straps to me. My original chapin 20V came with straps much thinner (almost laughable). Those look much better.future_lawnnut wrote:[/url]
In any event, I did end up ordering these and they do fit. I'd say for a reasonable sized yard, comfort of the straps don't really come into play (even though they are more comfortable), but the stability of the tank on your back is much improved and I'm certain it would allow more continued use. The chest buckle helps.
I also ordered a teejet trigger with a trigger lock (I find this to be the weak link in the fatigue chain). Ordered this one which has the lock but has a shorter handle so we shall see if it's a keeper.

Reread the post. The originals were replaced with these. These came off a hudson sprayer.beedix wrote:Personally, that looks like deluxe straps to me. My original chapin 20V came with straps much thinner (almost laughable).

Mine came in yesterday
"Don't you already have two sprayers?"
Time for a new one! (Not another sprayer)

^ I was asked the same thing. My response was one was for herbicides and the other for non-herbicides.

Update, so ive ran about 50gals through it so far. No problems, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides. The only complaint is the lid, it has some terrible threads. I'm gonna see if I can mount the pump in my other sprayer, Hudson sp0.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
I wouldnt say its a problem its just hard to get the lid started or secured cause of the treads. It always wants to cross thread when starting to turn. And you cant get the lid real tight or it just pops off threads, kinda scary with 4 gals on your back. But ive never had a problem during use! Only with putting the lid back on.LoneRanger wrote:^ What is the actual problem?

My lid is a pain to get started as well, but it does tighten down snugly without fear of it popping off.

Huh, my lid starts easy, goes on fine and seals well. I can lift a full sprayer with the lid handle and probably swing it around with no concerns. You do have to use the mesh filter or it will leak, but it is clearly designed that way. I would say that if your lid is not secure, you should call Chapin and get a new one.

I just picked one up. Super pumped (no pun intended).
I do have one question:
Is the tee jet REALLY needed?

Actually, there are some TeeJet tips that (apparently) fit in the Chapin gasket. They are tips with higher flow rates.

I would say if your using products like Celsius/prodamine you would benefit from the more precise control/coverage of the tee jet tips

Can you expand on that for us?HitEmTrue wrote:Actually, there are some TeeJet tips that (apparently) fit in the Chapin gasket. They are tips with higher flow rates.

Re: Chapin's new 20V Backpack Sprayer
Over in DFW Pilot's sprayer wand thread. Last week someone said that he was able to swap out just the tip, and gave the teejet tip model numbers. Those are larger tips (and use use a larger quick connect) than tips DFW recommends.LoneRanger wrote:Can you expand on that for us?HitEmTrue wrote:Actually, there are some TeeJet tips that (apparently) fit in the Chapin gasket. No issues with the lid on mine...
