backpack sprayer recommendation
i have .5 acres, so i don't want to refill this thing 100x.
i'm average strength, so i don't want to lug around a small horse on my back either.
i have forrest gump's lawnmower so a tow behind is out of the question i think.
i'm sold on the TEE-JET stuff, so i would like for you to tell me everything i need to go with the backpack, down to the hose clamps. (i'll be very sad if i get it and i can't use it because i'm missing a clamp).
without your help i was about to buy a hudson neverpump with all the tee-jet amenities.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
If you have the budget, the Chapin battery sprayer with a brass wand. You will need to make your own wand, but it is easy. Details in this thread: http://aroundtheyard.com/equipment/chap ... 16915.html. You don't want to use a pressure valve in the wand. The backpack itself maintains a constant pressure.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
If you want on the cheap/easy the Chapin 62000 accepts standard TeeJet tips without needing anything extra. I run the XR and AIXR tips in mine as-is right out of the box. AIXR11006 for soil apps and the XR11006 for folar apps both get me right at 1gal/K. YMMV based on overlap, walking speed, etc.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
I would definitely go with a battery powered sprayer. I have a .25 acre lot and a Stihl SG20 and it plums wears me out trying to broadcast spray with it.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
The Chapin battery powered sprayer can hold up to 4 gallons (34 lbs) and weighs about 8 lbs empty. Obviously you don't have to fill it up all the way. It does make spraying relatively easy compared to the pump sprayer. Finding one at a Lowes for $99 is a bit of a challenge right now around here. Most stores show none in stock.

$138 on Amazon isn't a bad deal.
( edit )
Yikes, it went back to $170 today.

^ Yep, Northern has promo codes all the time. Currently it's $159.99 there, but you can use promo code 248081 for $25 off $150+ which brings it down to $134.99. Solid deal, IMO. They also ship to store for free.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
Just ordered it on Northern Tool. It was (is) on sale for $159.99 and then $25 off (thanks for the code ), then add shipping and tax it was $153.58. I could have saved $10.49 in shipping and picked it up at the local store 45 miles away but they showed estimated delivery at a week to 10 days. I'll pay the ten bucks, not deal with Orlando traffic and have it in my hands by Friday or Monday.

@Alan, don't know what your exercise regimen is, but a little Excercise every now & then should help keep you in shape. LOL

@Tony,
12oz. curls are it. That's in beer cans. I bought an 8 gallon, 12v pump type from NT and hook it up to my golf cart and it's so much easier.

Re: backpack sprayer recommendation
Is the Chapin 62000 worth the extra $30 relative to the 61900? I priced the 61900 at $80 and the 62000 at $115. Just wondered from actual users if there is any significant difference?
