Mixing chemicals with water in a 4 gal. Backpack sprayer
I've only ever had a 2 gal. Pump sprayer but recently upgraded to the Chapin 20v. Before I'm off and running I just want to know how people mix the chemicals. With the pump sprayer I would fill half water and chemical and add the rest of water. Is that good enough for a backpack or is there a better way?

I put the chemicals in and then fill it up. Just the process of getting it on my back mixes it up enough lol

Some of the labels will have specific mixing instructions for spot (backpack or smaller 2 gal) sprayers. Celsius, XLR8, and Revolver come to mind. Most say add 3/4 water, chemical, then agitate, then surfactant and then marking agent, top off the water then agitate again then spray.

I fill half full with water, add ingredients, then fill with water. I have a secret method for mixing. Wanna know what it is?
... I pick the sprayer up and shake the sh#t out of it sideways. The Chapin 20v has one of the best seal designs I've seen, on a backpack.

I use a 5 gallon bucket (calibrated with 1 gallon marks), fill it with water and chemicals. Then mix it with a paint mixer for 15 seconds or so, and pour in the sprayer. The 20V Chapin has a huge top opening that makes this easy peasy.

I use the bucket method as well. I've found it to be superior to trying to mix in tank.McLovin wrote:I use a 5 gallon bucket (calibrated with 1 gallon marks), fill it with water and chemicals.
