How many of you guys use cheaper, cross referenced oil filters vs paying the 40% more for the JD version?

I'm a dolt. I didn't read he whole thread before I replied.
I absolutely adore this machine. Even with the 42" deck. I ran home early today to give the hair a cut, its been warm and Rainey for the past week. It needed to be mowed. Anyways. I snapped a quick pic.
Obviously early in the season. Its the second now for me. The first I was just screwing around with he toy. The mower itself is big, but I have said other places, its big tall. It handles way better than its size would lead you to believe.

Re: Time for a new mower
Gotta love Deere green! I'd really like to buy one and use it for lawn cutting and other lawn duties as well as winter snow removal, but I really don't think I have enough room in my garage. Two car garages around here aren't really 2 cars... more like 1.5.

Yeah I hear you! My garage barely fits my snowblower let alone this machine with a blower attachment on the front!

Thanks Pilot. He is more or less a moron. But most of them are.
That shot is actually my Reno from about 2 years ago.
The Deere cuts amazing, and I am really happy with it.

How's the JD running/working for you PSU? I'm thinking this winter or next spring I'm going to either get a JD rider, like the one you got, or get a JD commercial walk-behind.
The JD 32" or 36" walk-behind would work great, but that rider like yours looks really nice.

Its running and working just great, just about 10 hours on it now and i just did the first oil change. The engine on it runs really smooth compared to the BS that was on my old D140Riverpilot wrote: ↑June 18th, 2017, 11:59 pmHow's the JD running/working for you PSU? Cruise control is about useless for me though, i never get into a big enough sprint that makes it practical.
The only issue i'm having is in some areas it doesn't want to cut the grass good....between thin grass, slopes and the tractor matting it down before it mows, i'm having to learn the best way to cut the different areas but thats more a function of my land geography than the tractor.
I might looking into getting the grooming kit on it soon.

Re: Time for a new mower
Thanks for the info. Maybe try gator blades? I keep hearing those help with mulching and being able to lift the grass up better.
I have 3 trees, uneven lawn, and a few "tight" areas, which is why I was thinking maybe the 32" JD walk behind would work better for me.

Re: Time for a new mower
I actually mow my tight areas with my push mower first and then the tractor with everything else. I have about 20 trees to get around and it does a good job
