Chapin 20v leaking at cap area

Chapin 20v 63985
I know these sprayers were a hot ticket last season and a lot of people picked one up. Mine is leaking at the cap area. Was wondering if anyone else had that issue and what the remedy was. I'm not sure if I need a new cap and filter with the seal/gasket or not.

mine arrived leaky. had to return it. didn't seam like any way to fix it either, always got worse. my battery hits the frame when trying to remove it but I fight with it in fear of adjusting the cap at the bottom and having that very issue again.
