ANOTHER TRU - CUT BACK LAPPING QUESTION

Does this look like a powerful enough drill ( 3/8" drive, with 3/4" socket attached) to turn the blades on a C27 True - Cut reel for back - lapping ? And, does there need to be some play between drill and socket ? Seems like I read something like that, as to not put to much stress on bearings or something like that?

Should work fine just run it on the lower rpm setting of the drill if it has one and as far as play I usually take the chain off of my tru cut when I backlap but you could also use a swivel socket adapter and that may give it a little more play. If this is the first time you've backlap the mower be sure that the compound is water based for a lot easier clean up.

What is a "Swivel socket adapter"? Saw several different types on Google search. Why is it safer to use then the standard type I have shown ? I plan to keep the chain on while back - lapping. The compound that I have ordered is water based. Thanks for helping me.

The set up you have will work just fine. The swivel socket adapter looks like it will just allow a little "play" in the angle that your re holding the drill. I have used your set up before and it has worked perfectly.
