Hand Can sprayer no longer holding pressure
What might cause this? Is it fixable or garbage now? Air is leaking out around the stem for the pump. I've had it about 5 years, and it's a Lesco 3-gal (made by Chapin, I believe).

Re: Hand Can sprayer no longer holding pressure
Generally leaks in sprayers are caused by a dried out or cracked gasket or o-ring. Disassemble it to find the cracked gasket or o-ring. Replacing the problem gasket or o-ring will probably restore it to as-new operation.
I need to do this on my 1.5-gallon sprayer from HQ (anyone else remember "HQ to the rescue?") that I've had since about 1994, as it's starting to lose some air pressure, too.

Re: Hand Can sprayer no longer holding pressure
Just saw this answer now. I suspected it was the O-ring, because initially it started only when the gasket was wet, like if I refilled after one use.
I've been using my backup sprayer instead...an Ace Hardware cheapo version also made by Chapin, but I actually like it...it sprays a fine mist, so I can cover a large area with just a gallon.
I'll have to look for the replacement part online.

It's obviously made by Chapin...but how can I go about finding the correct replacement parts? I don't have the instruction book...long misplaced.

I found the instruction manual to their current version online: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/msds/ ... MANUAL.pdf
It doesn't have a replacement parts section, though. My sprayer is a few years older; I'm not sure if the parts are exactly the same.

It looks the same, actually. So I bet if I can find the part for that one, it would fit mine. My O-ring is brown, not black.
