Battery operated security camera
Can anyone recommend a battery operated security camera (not too expensive) that has HD, night vision and is motion activated ?
I have dog pee spots in the front yard and some critter was removing apples from our dwarf apple tree in the rear yard.

You could look into Power Over Ethernet. Makes getting power to things a little easier, still have to run a cord and there's still some length restrictions but would give more options and still be easy enough.

The Yi Home security cameras are great, but not battery powered. They only need a USB power source and a wifi signal, so in theory, you could use a portable power bank to power it overnight and see what you get:
I've got this one, it is really cool, you can pan 350° and tilt 90°. Heck of a deal for $40:

Power with something like this for $14:

The reason you won't find many battery-powered cameras is because unless you have a Tesla-sized battery, you're going to be changing batteries ALL. THE. TIME.
I use PoE. Mine have successfully prosecuted criminals, too
The hardest thing about installing camera systems is running the wires.

If close enough to the house, the ring systems have solar panels on them so that they can be wireless and remote. Just need to be within wifi range.
