Kohler vs. Briggs on Toro mower?

Kohler vs. Briggs on Toro mower?

After having poor experience with a 2014 mower with cheap Briggs and Stratton Quantum engine, I was wondering what engine is better...the Kohler or current B&S used in the 22-inch Toros.

My 21 inch Super Recycler just has the Toro brand engine. Works great. Or for $50 you can "upgrade" to the Honda engine.

I have a 2004 Toro which I bought used in 2012. Since then I've replaced 2 wheels and the self propelled is on its way out. The Kohler engine is still going strong though
