Robomow RS 630

Post by GeorgiaDad » June 14th, 2018, 7:43 pm

I'm starting to seriously look at robot mowers. I've checked out several brands. But their hoc is too low. The Robomower has a hoc of 3.14". Which is 1" higher than the others I've looked at. If you own a Robomower I would love your input. (Morph) Expecting to purchase late summer to early fall.

I've the RL850, an ancient model that still, after sixteen years, is happily doing its job (including right this very instant when it's polishing off the back yard).

My top deck is 3", and I've always wished it were a bit taller. With finagling, and with duct tape, I can force that up to 3.25"--which is fine.

If the quality hasn't changed in 1.5 decades, you should be very happy with it.

Blasphemy!!!!

See now I'd want a reel mower that could take it down to < 1" :D

But in GA that might be a problem with KBG!!

GeorgiaDad, did you end up getting the rs630? If so, what had been your experience so far? I'm seriously considering one myself some point over the next year.

HoosierLawnGnome, do you really mow your grass low? I was under the impression mowing cool season lawn low would be considered heresy on aroundtheyard

I mow at 1.5 inches.

I'm in the minority, for sure, but I get no grief at aty.

Now, my good friend is a soil and water sustainability consultant and he gives me grief. It is definitely not the height at which it is strongest in root mass, heat tolerance, desease resistance, color etc. He views it as artificial growing conditions with the low HOC, high fertility etc.
