I’m looking for recommendations on a broadcast spreader. My Scott’s Turf Builder Deluxe is a chore to push on my lawn so I would be looking to upgrade to something with pneumatic tires and at least an 80 capacity. Thanks!

I have the Earthway 2170 and love it. It can handle up to 100 pounds of material.

A big question is how much you want to spend?
I have a Lesco spreader from Site One. They set it up, calibrated, etc.. but, all depends on $$$$$

I’m one of those people who doesn’t mind spending the money if I’m getting a good product and it makes the work easier. Plus, I prefer to buy something once, not numerous times after the crappy one breaks.

I've had the Earthway 2170 commercial for a few years and it works great. It has pneumatic tires and 100 lb capacity. Now, on my hilly terrain, I tend to keep the loads below that...

I have a Lesco 50 LB spreader from Site One -- have used it on 10,000 SQ FT Lawn for about 4 years -- very reliable and easy to use. The 50 LB spreader has a black powder coated steel frame which is fine for me. If you want the 80 LB Lesco spreader it has a stainless steel frame and the price is considerably higher.

Keep your eyes open for used ones. I found a used Earthway C22R (similar to the 2150) for $50. It’s served me well on my 12k sqft for a few years now and shows no signs of slowing down.

You’re right, the pneumatic tires are a huge upgrade from the plastic scotts wheels. I don’t know how I used the Scotts edgeguard mini for so long. I also really like that I can close ports on the Earthway to better control the throw pattern. If you get a used one at a good price and realize you don’t like it, it should be easy enough to sell and get your money back. At least that’s what I tell myself.

I have the Spyker P20-5010 with add on side deflector for edges. It's a 50lb capacity and all I need on my 10,000sqft lawn. I got the side shield directly from Spyker by calling the customer service number and it was much cheaper than anywhere else.
This Spyker replaced a Scott's Edgegaurd Delux. And like others, I don't known how/why I went so long without a good spreader.
Pneumatic tires are a must, as well as a large gate so I can run large particle size & flow rate of organic fertilizers thru it.

I’d recommend the Echo Spreader RB-60. Fantastic step up from Scott’s Mini/Elite.

I just got the Echo RB-60 at the beginning of the year to replace an Earthway 2170 (not a fan of the 2170).

I love the Echo - seems to throw an accurate and even pattern, easy to push, perfect size for my yard, etc. I would second Ben's recommendation except that is does not meet the OP's 80# requirement.
