While I was away

Being gone so much, this song really resonates with me. I've been listening to it while on this ten day trip.

Chris Stapleton's (May 3, 2015) debut album, Traveller. Great album, top to bottom, from a guy who has written songs for some of the best in the business.

Darn, I forgot to post this on June 25th (Half Christmas).

Listened to my Christmas playlist on the iPod while mowing the lawn. It was a great day!

All I do is drive

Post by dfw_pilot » July 13th, 2015, 5:57 pm

I rediscovered this Johnny Cash song from the newest iPhone commercial. It's lyrics like only Johnny can sing.

Hint: Want to know what airline flying is like? Replace drive with fly and waitress with flight attendant . . .

Matt Redman

Post by dfw_pilot » September 7th, 2015, 1:58 pm

Matt Redman is probably one of my favorite song writers and I love his album Your Grace Finds Me. Even my young girls sing along to some of the lyrics.

It is a good enough album that I don't want anyone to miss out on listening to it if they are interested. Therefore, simply PM me your e-mail address (don't post it!) and I'll gift it to you via iTunes (or Amazon - I'm less familiar). The offer stands as long as I'm a member here and have a checking account with money in it. You guys are my friends - no strings attached. Enjoy!

Interstellar

The Interstellar soundtrack. The music really makes the movie, and the main theme was even written before the script was.

Pan American sung by Larry Sparks
Originally written and sung by Hank Williams

Lyrics

I have heard your stories about your fast trains
But now I'll tell you about one all the southern folks have seen|g
She's the beauty of the southlands listen to that whistle scream
It's that pan american on her way to new or-leans.

She leaves cincinnati headin' down that dixie line
When she passes that nashville tower you can hear that
Whistle whine
Stick your head right out the window and feel that southern breeze
Your on that pan american on her way to new or-leans.

If your ever in the south lands and want to see the scenes
Just get your self a ticket on that pan american queen
There's louivill nashville montgomery the cap'tal of ala-bam
You pass right through then all when your new orleans bound.

She leaves cincinnati headin' down that dixie line
When she passes that nashville tower you can hear that
Whistle whine
Stick your head right out the window and feel that southern breeze
Your on that pan american on her way to new or-leans.
