You must really love it if you let it on your lawn! Nice wheels!

Re: My New Car
Did it come with built-in GPS? Sirius Radio? Bluetooth?

Re: My New Car
If you were in CT I think the governor would mandate airbags.
But seriously, I've thought about the day I can get a fun second car...that one never crossed my mind, but wow that would be great - absolutely great. ENJOY!

GPS? Only when I stick it to the windshield.andy10917 wrote:Did it come with built-in GPS? Sirius Radio? Bluetooth?
Sirius Radio? No radio but the wife and I like to sing.
Bluetooth? I haven't had a blue tooth since I ate some bad-[banned word] jello back in high school.
Pw... I've only driven it up and down my street so far. I'm going to rebuild the carburetor and want to pull apart the mechanical brakes to inspect them first. Mechanical breaks and manual steering are something I've got to get use to again.

Re: My New Car
The mechanical simplicity of that thing will make it a joy to work on.

Re: My New Car
After driving the car around for a few months. I decided it was time to rebuild the car. So starting in late Jan. 2015 I went from this....
To this...
To today...
The engine is a SBC 327 300hp pulled from a 1968 Corvette completely striped down, machined .30 over, New Comp Cam L79 cam, rings, pistons balanced. Going with a Holley 4 barrel carb. Mechanical fuel pump.
5 speed manual transmission is from a 1989 Camaro with the rear tail from a 1990 S10, Using a hydraulic throw out bearing.
The rear end is a Ford 8" pulled from a 1977 Falcon. I changed the axles to Moser heavy duty ones.
Scored a pair of leather seats out of a 2002 Mustang GT.
Frame has been boxed and cross supports added. Front end is a TCI independent from suspension.
4 wheel disc brakes. Gas tank moved to behind the seats. Old tank cut out and fitted for A/C unit and wiring harness/fuse block.
Dash is a 1932 dash reproduction. Thinking of filling in the roof with steel. It would be more rigid than the cloth roof it had.
I think I should have it all together in the next 4-6 weeks. Then strip it completely down again. Have the frame powder coated. Then paint the body parts with SPI paint before its reassembled again.

Re: My New Car
This is from a couple of years ago. Before I torn it down. Warning. Neither the wife nor I are great movie takers.
