You think that there is always,always, much more to learn about growing turf.
And; after all, we're just hobbyists, and not someone who's livelihood depends on professional performance. This whole hobby leads to compulsive behavior?? I think I need a break!

P.S. I wonder what it's like being a professional in this line of work.

...you drive by a Lawn store (sod, seed, chemicals) with a help wanted sign and briefly contemplate asking your wife if she would work there so you can get discounts.

... you lived next to a veteran turf consultant that advises local professional practice field managers for 15 years and HE thinks you're crazy.

Checking for sprouts from the deck window with binoculars so the wife can't yell at you for being outside again.

You sit down and start adding up all the $$$$ you've spent in the last 10 years on mowers, backpack sprayers, trimmers, spreaders, misc equipment, milo, fertilizers, premo, chemicals, tests, and time and realize you could have bought and paid for the fine Italian sports car you've dreamed of since age 15 and YOU DON'T CARE!!! Because your turf looks FANTASTIC!!

That's when you realize that you're right on the edge of having a problem.

When someone in town tells you how nice your yard looks and the only thing you can think about is hitting it with roundup.
