Any Raspberry Pi Project Fans Here?

Post by andy10917 » August 14th, 2016, 10:56 am

Looking to see if forwarding any Raspberry Pi project plans would find an audience here - I know the number of IT and Engineer types here is high.

PS: if you don't know what Raspberry Pi projects are, please avoid crowding this up with dumb jokes...

Fan here. No projects in flight (yet), but I have a couple in mind ;) It's like a higher level of embedded system - the applications are endless, particularly with all the robotics rage right now.

I keep intending to do something, but never quite get around to it.

I'm a fan of Raspberry Pi and Arduino as well. Seeing the OpenSprinkler work has definitely got me interested in the possibilities of hacking around on a sprinkler controller for one thing.

I'm using a rp3 board to run my arcade game system. Going whole hog, building a cabinet, with a real joystick and buttons. The rp3 board will run Retropie, a front end for arcade game ROMs. Planning on loading it with the classics like pacman, mspacman, galaga, defender, frogger, donkey kong, 1941, a few others. Search mame cabinets for examples.

I just installed a bunch of home automation equipment over the last few weeks and have been looking at home assistant on RPI. It would be awesome to have the ability to do finer controls than what are available with most hubs.
