For Those That Think Their Laptop Costed Too Much
This is for real - this was the cost of a personal computer in 1977. In today's dollars, it would be the equivalent of $25,012. Check out those specs!!

Whoa, that one had a hard disk. Our IBM PC without hard disk cost in 1983, with IBM employee discount mind you, close to that much. DOS had to be loaded via floppy.

Yeah, a hard disk was very unusual. My first "real" computer was the IBM 5150 in early 1982. When configured, it cost me around $5,000. With two 320KB diskette drives, I managed to create a game for Activision -- in Assembler language. It took 45 minutes to compile and link the program, which was less than 5,000 lines of code. That would be a blink of an eye today.

I remember that era as little kid in the late 1980s. I typed (probably gibberish) on a computer like that, and saved it to 8-inch floppy disks.

I had a Commodore 64. The Model-T of pc's. It was awesome. I could categorize all of my baseball cards, print out my "spread sheet," and even play video games with my friends. In fact, once a week my family and my cousins would get together for lessons on how to use it.
