I'm extremely sorry to hear that and you have my best wishes at this time. It's horrible to have a parent die at any time, but I think it's particularly difficult during the holidays as they tend to mark the occasion in our memories for the rest of our lives.

Take care of yourself right now, you're in my thoughts.

Oh BP, there is nothing that we can say to make those losses hurt any less. Please accept our wishes that God grants you a way to get through this period and that you remember the good memories and not the sadness of your losses as time passes. Reading something like this hits like a punch...

From reading the obituary it seems she was a great mother and grandmother.

So sorry to hear about your mom... It does seem that she taught you a sense of humor and I hope you gave her a good send-off in spite of this COVID mess. R.I.P.

And a great greatgrandmother. She was having a 4 generation dinner (newest great granddaughter was most likely sleeping) when she had her heart attack.

Nobody traveled (not even Boston to Sharon). They set up a live stream of the funeral. Fittingly (considering her technical prowess), they had difficulties at the start. They finally got it going. There was a brief period of things getting started, followed by my brother saying that somebody was rebooting the server, followed by somebody frantically yelling "no no no. That will lose the link. " followed by silence.

They did manage to record it, and we set up a zoom for a virtual collation (first time I'd ever seen the term used this way).

We are planning a larger gathering in Illinois (where she spent more than half her life) next year.

Just crazy the things we are doing due to COVID... the vaccine can't come soon enough. I'm sure that your mom was watching down on you all and smiling watching the fiasco.
