First triathlon of the season

It was a sprint triathlon (350 yard swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run.

Sung to the tune of "Tradition" from "Fiddler on the Roof":

Attrition! Attrition!
Who came in second not beccause he's strong,,
But just because he's lived this long?

Attrition! Attrition!

I was actually slower this time that both times I did this same course last year (although I was close to my time last fall), but I've apparently outlasted enough other people that I came in second for men in my age group (or maybe some of the people who were faster than Iast year aged into the next age group.

I hired a trainer this year, and I think I'll be quite a bit faster when I do this course again in the fall.

Thanks.

I'm actually in 4 more between now and then, but the others are all Olympic distance (twice as far on bike and run and more than 4x as far on the swim, so they're not really comparable. Swimming is my best event, so having a longer swim relative to the others helps me.
