Canada wildfires

How is the smoke impacting everyone? I'm in Southcentral PA and we are seeing it and smelling it. Sunset and sunrise is like something from a dystopian movie. We have a visible haze most of the day. We are also in the Susquehanna river valley so I suspect that may be helping to channel the smoke in our region.

Noon was halfway Silent Hill and halfway Fallout 4 from a radioactive storm on Wednesday. It smelled something like a wildfire then segued into a tire fire later.

Fortunately, I work from home and could run the filters on high all day.

Welcome to my world. We get wildfire smoke almost every summer. We get it from oor own fires, as well as fires from all up and down the west coast.

In Utah, the air looking, smelling, and trading line that is just known as August.

I got little sympathy from our California team members from the Los Angeles area, either. They just said, "That's our summer."

Yeah, but this is Pennsylvania. No earthquakes, no tornadoes, no wildfires, droughts are rare, the weather is temperate, and even hurricanes are almost unheard-of.

1 hour west of Toronto and we got nothing.
Last week there were around 400 burning.

I’ve seen a video of satellite imagery - clear day, vast landscape and bam… several fires ignite simultaneously.

The internet “fact checkers” say it’s non sense.
Therefore as I’ve come to learn over the last 3 years… when the “fact checkers” say it’s false - it’s more than likely true.

Hang in there guys. And hang onto your gas mowers cause they’re probably coming for those next.

I think it's one of those things that you see on the news and think, "Wow. That's really something."

It's really hard to fathom until you actually experience it.

And those fires are many miles away. They're really something up close. There was one in my town that came within a couple od miles iid my house. I could stand in my driveway and feel the heat when it was 2 miles away.

I was in Manhattan (NYC) Tuesday - Thursday. With 500 pts possible, it was 484 pts. The sky and air was completely pumpkin-colored, and just breathing was a chore.

The weirdest part was that during a meeting I was complimented on my dark green shirt (most people I work with know I dye my own fabrics).

I was wearing a plum shirt. The orange light from the windows, plus the weird camera interpretation on the laptop, turned it green. I had the interior lights off because the air was so bad even indoors that I'd developed a headache.
