I'm into Muzzle loading black powder. I have a CVA 50 cal. St. Louis Hawken rifle that I built from a kit 20 years ago. Love to shoot it. It's pretty accurate. I also have a replica 1857 New Army revolver, 45 cal. 6 shot cap and ball. Fun to shoot but not that accurate.

I've shot a lot of shotguns and pistols with my dad and uncles, and I finally just bought my first gun over the weekend: a Ruger SP101. I'm pretty much in love.

I don't own any handguns. I do own a Rem. 870 that I have had since I was 14. As for gun bans, I don't think they will accomplish anything.

I own a few handguns and a few shotguns and a .22 rifle, no high power rifles. I have a concealed carry license, but don't carry much. I work in a 30.06 posted building. TW will know what that means.

One of my hobbies is hunting - coyotes, fox, pheasants, and deer. All my guns are tailored to that.

Remington 1187 20 Gauge rifled slug barrel with Leupold Scope
Browning BPS 12 Gauge
Browning BPS 20 Gauge
Remington 700 SPS .204 (love that little rocket round) with Nikon Monarch
Remington 700 .17 Rem (4200 fps is also a rocket) with Bushnell Elite 4200
Tikka 22-250 - with crappy Tasco
Browning Buckmark .22 pistol
Savage .22 bolt action rifle

And another hobby is woodworking. This is my first big project I finished this winter. All red oak with a dye finish and a wipe on poly. The only fasteners used were to hold on the top and, of course, the hardware. I decided to make it look more like furniture so it can more easily be in our living room or dining room.

heh. I missed this thread originally. Ammo and desired guns pop up here and there in MA for moments but then they are gone.

I'm a gun newB, but I have a ton of friends who are bigtime shooters of all sorts, most evil black rifle types.

My first was Ruger SR22, had it for a year, love it. Bought a S&W M&P 15-22 back in the fall as well, very fun to shoot. I still don't carry yet, or very often, but would like to get a SW Shield 9mm some day. I don't bother buying one now because there's no ammo out there to shoot it.

When it's available I buy reload components in bulk like primers 5K at a time. Brass 5x100. Bullets etc.
Looks like there is a lot of gun folks on BL/ATY. Yeah!

Years ago back in the 80's Remington was putting limited production calibers in the 700's. I bought one and still have it in 257 Roberts. (Long Action). Since I don't hunt really anymore I don't shoot it much.
I am putting a Leupold VX-3 30mm 8.5x25x50 with Ken Farrel one piece base and rings for the Savage.

They are both in the same price range, it's more a preference to me. I have used Leupold's scopes for years with no complaints.

Yeah, VX 4, and VX 6 cost more than the gun. But if I was shooting in competition I would spend the money.

Oh yea they are nice setups just for what I'm using it for and being my first bolt gun. there was no way i could spend that much. Yes competition I could see a reason for it.

Good for you, 308 is a great accurate cartridge. You might want to hand load Your better off and you can experiment with different powders bullets etc. I made my own gun bench years ago to reload or go buy/free an old kitchen table that is sturdy. Checkout this web sight. These guys are very knowledgeable.

Yea I have a reloading set up now. I have been reloading 40 and .223 I'm just waiting till I get some more time under my belt before I buy the stuff for .308 Plus I need some brass. I have only shot the new rifle like 15 times. I gotta save up a little brass, but def plan on handloads for sure! especially with prices of match grade going through the roof
