"Teaming with Microbes" on iPad
Finally able to get this book on iPad. I found it on Amazon. First I had to down load the Kindle app. Then purchase the Teaming with Microbes e-book. Now I can read it anywhere I take my iPad.

It reads like an Agatha Christie novel.

Murder On The Poa Express? Please tell me it doesn't involve a lawn nut, a tow truck driver and a wood chipper.

It seems Hercule Poirot is on the case. You could have a problem.andy10917 wrote:Murder On The Poa Express? Please tell me it doesn't involve a lawn nut, a tow truck driver and a wood chipper.

I have not read the book but I participated on a forum for a year or so with the author (Jeff Lowenfels). He really knows his stuff technically. He is the kind of guy who believes all chemicals are bad chemicals not matter how valuable they might be. He would spend thousands in equipment (and associated gas, oil, and compaction) to avoid spending $40 on a dose of RoundUp. But he really knows his microbes!

I saw the same in the book. It's good, but he's a total downer on anything "chemical," but seems to ignore the fact that many plants produce their own deadly chemicals in copious amounts to out-compete their neighbors.
I tended just to ignore the rants on that stuff and look at the other things. I don't think a spot app of Round Up is going to wipe the microherd, and evidence from use suggests that it does not.

I have friends like that author - it's a religion to them. They judge the heck out of me, no doubt.
