Milorganite sale

Post by ken2736 » March 21st, 2016, 3:17 pm

"Rumor" has it that True Value will have Milorganite on sale. I called True Value today and they told me that Milorganite will be on sale during the month of April. 6.99 a bag. He told me I can pre order the amount I want. So call your local True Value and see what they say so u can get it.

Fingers crossed. I bought 80+56 bags from the last two True Value sales. As always, look for an online coupon code before placing your order for ship-to-store. There's currently a $15 off $125, but that expires tomorrow. I've gotten either $5 or $10 off these past two years.

Here's my slickdeal post from 2014 and the one from 2015. Note that there have been challenges ordering the right product number depending on your region.

Last year I had problems ordering it from the desktop site. They wouldn't let me do ship to store for whatever reason. Fired up the mobile site and it processed my order just fine.

I have a Lowes gift card I was going to use for Milorganite this year, but if this sale is true I may buy from True Value and use the gift card for something else.

How did the sale work last year? Could you walk in and purchase for that price? Or did you have to order online first and do ship to store?

Good to know. That'll save me $3 a bag. Thanks!

They moved it up to April? Usually it's the first week of May, I know because I have an annual reminder set on my phone from the previous two years. :rotfl:

True Value trying to sneak one by us. :club:

Ship to store only, as far as I know. My local True Value doesn't even stock Milo, so ship-to-store was my only option.

Lowes has price matched the last two years (for me).

Others have gone to HD and price match + 10% discount.

Wow that would be awesome. At least I'll be getting cheap Milo from someone!

That's why I linked to the slickdeals threads from the past couple years, so that you can read up ahead of time on how it worked. There are also threads here from the past sales. My 2014 slickdeal gave credit to ATY members brooksie, ENVY23, and Charley.

I'll read it. There's a True Value within a half hour of here or so, so I hope this sale happens again. I missed it last year. Regular price is $15 now here.

Wish I could store bags in my basement but they do tend to give off an odor. Looks like I'm making room in the shed for 20 bags!

The 2015 SD thread is great when the guy posts Lawn Care Nut video links pretending they are his. :good:

That's assuming that slickdeals member hardon4life and Lawn Care Nut aren't one and the same. I'll admit that I don't see LCN using hardon4life as a screen name.

The suspect posts:

http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.p ... tcount=198

BTW, I'm tsglenn over at slickdeals.

I suspected tsglenn was someone from ATY. Great posts in that thread.

Thanks! I try my best to stifle the rampant misinformation in those Milorganite deal threads. And a little ATY plugging and recruitment doesn't hurt. ;-)

Time to stock up! Beats the $13/bag I usually pay at Lowe's.
