Perogies
Okay, going to start a new food thread regarding the subject food....
Some,(probably most)aren't familiar with it, but basically it's a dough dumpling filled with a cheese and mashed potato filling(the most common anyway), then boiled, then shallow fried in onions and butter. There are other variable fillings to be had I suppose(Google it). Its origin is mostly Polish(I think), but somewhat common in eastern Europe, specifically the Ukraine. Anyone have anything to add or am I by myself on this one?

Re: Perogies
I like the pierogi's with onions and bacon in them. You can basically put anything into a pierogi alongside cheese and mashed potatoes. I eat them but not all that often. Sauerkraut is a pretty common filling as well.

Re: Perogies
They occasionally will last as long as 30 seconds on this Pollack's plate.

Re: Perogies
I like them. My wife's grandfather is polish so he brings them from a polish market for holidays.

Pittsburgh
Alan, you from Pittsburgh? I used to fly with a Polish Pittsburgh flight attendant who was famous for her Perogies.
