Yup! Tomorrow (Sunday) it will be 82 here. On Tuesday night (October 17) we are likely to have frost here. That's why I always say to stick with the average first frost date - guess what the average first frost date is for zip code 10917 (my home). Yup, October 17th.

Yup winter is coming for sure. And with La Niña looking to be around this winter it could be a snowy one for the east.

Re: Winter is Close
Yeah, right on schedule...our average first frost date span is Oct. 14-18th (it's debatable what the actual day is, because there are different data standards in play). And Tuesday night appears to be bringing the first frost. One more early Fall fertilizer app for me, and it'll be sometime this week (even though I do have some leeway technically because the grass never stops growing until late Nov. or early Dec....but I'm not going to push the luck too much).

Weather is quickly changing here in the north. Overnight lows in the low 40’s. The sun has dropped dramatically. Soon, 8 hours of daylight.

Re: Winter is Close
We are going to get 90+ degree weather for a good part of next week... But the daylight hour reduction is what’s noticeable now
