Today I continued raking leftover branches and pine cones. Last week I applied Dimension, lime and some moss killer. The lawn is greening up nicely, probably due to the 46-0-0 urea nitrogen I applied last fall.

Sprayed the first application of Acclaim Extra + Turflon Ester cocktail on the front yard to suppress the common bermuda. I usually wait until May to start but I've seen a couple of tiny green pieces of it in a flowerbed and another coming onto the sidewalk from the lawn. I'm not taking chances with the devil's grass.

The cocktail also does a good job of killing other undesirable weeds which is a plus.

Mowed yesterday for the third time this year. Sprayed some weeds. I’m happy with the way the lawn is looking but it’s keeping me busy trying to keep up with cutting 1/3 off. We’re getting a fair amount of rain and even more tomorrow, should make for a fun Sunday

Finally got to walk the property to see where I need to pay attention and begin planning - in the pouring rain.

"Emblem" monostand front lawn is FINALLY showing signs of awakening, and showing the beginnings of it's trademark blue tones. It sleeps until almost May some years. The snoring has stopped. The "Blueberry" monostand Back Yard is significantly ahead.

The more cold-tolerant Hosta are spiking and a few are opening - a long way to go before they're all in-gear.

Hydranea paniculata "Limelight" plants (my current favorite specimen plants) made it through that challenging first Winter.

Work List is a mile-long.

Mowing and edging of lawn. Mulch is all done. Irrigation is turned on and ready to go when needed.

Still need to figure out what to do with my hell strip, every winter it gets torn up by city trucks etc...

Finally Forsythia bloomed yesterday.
Good news.
I dropped my Pre em knowing it was going to rain.
Bad news.
I watched the pre em go to China.
What the heck was I thinking? :banghead:
Forecast for showers on and off from now until midweek.
Why did I not wait until after today.

We are fully awake and growth is kicking in.

Rain for 2 days straight here. Cant mow. Maybe tomorrow.

Fertilized a bunch of flowers and picked up some flats of groundcover.

Mowed for the fourth time this year. Some of my front isn’t 100% awake, but it’s close.

Didn't really "DO" anything to my lawn, but I was SHOCKED when observing it just how effective effective winterization is. My lawn, even though it is slow awakening Bewitched, has taken off way ahead of the neighborhood and will need to be mowed well before the neighbors even though I haven't fertilized at all this Spring.

I applied Milorganite at half the bag rate, and mixed in S.O.P and Borax per Andy's instructions. Very carefully mixed it up and then tipped over the spreader after it was filled.

2nd blanket spray of Velocity over the entire TTTF yard. The triv is browning and thinning out from the first spray. Some patches even have some seed heads I'm assuming due to stress. They look totally different than the annua seed heads. For some reason the annua really doesn't seem that bothered by the velocity. Since I have very little annua, I'm thinking of hitting them with roundup. I hope to get a 3rd application down in 21 days, but I have a feeling it will be too hot by then.

Put down Halts today, soil temps are ready. Plan on putting Milo down either later tonight or tomorrow night. Lawn is showing green and it's fairly clean as I mulched the heck out of it before winter last year.

First mow of the year, then applied serenade mixed with kelp help/molasses and Nu-film 17 as sticker. It’s been wet and humid for about 4 days, and got a couple days break before more of it. Trying to pre-empt red thread.

sprayed my yaku rhodys too...

First mow at 2 inches. Lawn came through winter with flying colors. I’m a true believer in the aggressive fall nitrogen regimen.

Put down Dimension .10% 13-0-0 last weekend. Glad to see I'm close to on-time based on zhotster's comments above. I was watching temps on greencast and national weather service sites. Crazy how much they vary, greencast was quite a bit higher. Also got the soil samples taken prior to putting down the Pre-M and sent off to Logan for analysis. Grass is greening up nicely, should have to mow this weekend. Had a TON of vole damage due to all the snow we had in February. :(

Just did a weeknight mow. I’m needing to mow every 3-4 days at this point to keep up. Raised my HOC to 4”. Enjoying a White Claw and looking at my freshly cut TTTF.
