Lime and Potash application

Post by ChrisT03 » March 18th, 2020, 11:04 pm

It was recommended to me through a soil test to add 4lbs/k of potash and 50lbs/k lime to my soil. I was going to apply the lime this spring and split applications of potash (2lbs/k spring and fall). I was just wondering what the timing should be for the applications. Lime first? Potash first? And how far apart should the applications be?

The application general guideline is to space out apps as far as possible, at least 2 weeks, but further is not going to hurt. That way, you prevent interactions. You have the right idea applying 1 lb of actual K20 at a time (2 lb/K of 0-0-50). Everything else is up to you.
