Serenade Sticker Shock, any big box sources?

Post by northeastlawn » May 2nd, 2020, 7:15 pm

Got my BSF app down today, and started thinking it will be Serrenade time before you know it. Especially since everything is delayed because if the lock downs I figured I should order it now. I popped onto amazon.com to order a bottle and saw a price of $30 plus shipping.

I dont mind the price, but not sure I trust the seller. I doubt I will put down the quantities to justify a gallon. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the price jump and if anyone had any luck getting it locally in Massachusetts?

I get the 2.5 gallons from seven springs farm, but they also have quarts, for a better price than amazon. The shipping brings it up tho. They are a good vendor.

I got BSF down today also, and applying Serenade/KH/yucca tomorrow. I start on the early side for red thread…

If I buy two I'm at $25 a QT, I can deal with that. Thanks for the tip.

When I saw the availability I thought maybe there was a supply issue this year.

I also buy from seven springs, but I’m treating about 30k so I use it. I’m going to wait on my BSF for a little bit, maybe before the rain this coming weekend, I don’t want to smell it while we are outside with this nice weather!

I'm seeing Serenade at $17.25 (in stock) at 7 Springs Farm, and for under $20 at a couple of places on EBAY. That's the same range of prices I was seeing last year -- no major sticker shock I'm aware of...

FWIW, I paid less than $5 more for the 2.5 gallons from 7 Springs Farm, compared to 3 years ago.

(Sorry, Northeastlawn, my fingers went faster than my brain - and I accidentally disapproved your post, Please repost it. I save the text but couldn't fetch the deleted posting}

Thats where I got some from, it came out to $25 for two bottles with shipping.

I just checked and amazon is still selling them for $35, but at least they now have it ion stock. A few days ago they had serenade listed, but didn't have anyone selling it.

7 Springs still haven't shipped my order yet, but I will probably stick with them in the future if this order works out.

Andy,
I received mine from 7 Springs within a week. I'd forgotten how...distinctive...Serenade smells!

Let's note that $35 at Amazon (plus shipping) is not sold by Amazon. It's from someone on the marketplace who is price gouging. When Amazon sells Serenade, it is always quite reasonable and often the best price you'll find on the small bottle. That said, 2.5 gallons at 7 Springs all day for those with large lawns.

Got my order from 7 Springs yesterday. No leaks and well packaged, all set for the warmup, whenever that happens.

Really stupid question but any tricks to getting a few ounces out of the 2.5 gallon jug?

Pour into a smaller container then out of that.
Turkey baster.
Siphon.
Add a spigot.

Thanks Timmy. I had visions of dropping the2.5 gallon jug. Reading the label it sounds like this stuff is toxic but after doing a search on this site it sounds like it’s not so bad. One more question if I may, is the 2 oz per 1000sqft in 1 gallon of water diluted enough where there are no problems with the sprayer clogging? I found some posts in earlier threads where clogging seemed to be an issue. Thanks!
