Check back in a bit, things get a little hinky sometimes. I just saw and looked at your thread a bit ago.
It may be the exterior link, though. They let me get away with posting my crappy art, but I always just send the pics to PostImage.

It was probably the external video link?
If you post your own photos/links though, the dragon-lords who own and operate this place should be fine with it.

Picture me shrugging. r/IDontWorkHereLady (always a fun Reddit site and fun stuff to listen to from rSlash on YouTube. Although I personally prefer ChoosingBeggars because I experience those myself).

I don't think there is anything in the way of a permissions thing preventing Youtube links here.

Yep. I found few of my old comments that contain youtube link and they're still there. Or maybe drones are illegal to mention or post in our "Water Cooler" sub forum?
It's ok

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
I couldn't possibly imagine why. People post drone shots.
And we're talking about drones right now, and a drone post.
They're a perfectly legal and valid hobby--at least in Pennsylvania, where I live, although I suppose mileage might vary--as long as you're following the same laws as a model airplane hobbyist and have your registration, plus follow applicable laws and privacy restrictions. I should imagine most sane states follow similar suit.

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
Yep and as long as we don't fly near airports at least 5 or 6 miles.
Anyways, my lawn will be 30 days old on Oct 27. However, soil temp has dropped to 45-47F for almost a week now. This coming Thursday, air temp will be 73F but definitely that temp will only be for an hour or less. It's still going to be warm. I'm so tempted to apply half-dose of N. I did some research about when to apply N on new grass. Few articles say it can be applied somewhere between 20th-45th days. Some articles say to apply it when grass is 1 month old. Our temps next week will for sure be below 45F. We had light flurries the other morning.

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
One mile in PA--I'm 2 1/4 mi from a major airport and people fly 'em all over the place around here, but I'm told there's a fairly low FAA ceiling or some such in the area.
You're definitely in the pause (it's not menopause or andropause, it's grassopause) so I'd...play this one by ear? A quarter dose, maybe, if it's still green, still looks fully awake, and you think the weather will hold at decent temps for a while yet.
I can't tell from here. My night-time temps are still in the fifties, soil temps holding around 55, afternoons over 70. The windows are wide open when the air conditioning isn't on.

Yeah, it still looks fully awake. Cool! I'll keep monitoring the weather. Thanks again. Good night!

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
The air temp right now is so nice but it rained this morning. I'm kinda worried that if I step on the grass, blades will stick to the dirt

They spring back. Animals walk around all the time. Plants have adjusted to this fact.

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
I just finished putting fertilizer 30 mins ago, 6pm Chicago time. Before I started, I touched the grass to see strong the blades are. I was able to tell that grass has matured. That's when I decided, "you know what, whatever, I'll drop urea now, LOL ". I made my first step on the grass. I was like "what the fudge, the dirt is so mushy/spongy. I continued putting the fertilizer anyways, hahaha! Also, I decided to put 1 lb of urea per 1000 sqft. If it kills the lawn, I'll renovate it again next year. I made sure I put enough water too.

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
While a pound was, perhaps, a tad high for pause-time, you can simply consider it your winterizer and just call yourself done for the year. Newly-renovated grass is not likely to grow significantly much later than this unless the weather seriously warms.
Which...well, it might. Ours is supposed to rebound again week after next as temps rise once again into the seventies and I bounce all the tropicals outside for two days to get some November sun.

Awesome! I forgot to say, I saw hundreds of tiny weeds. I can use a garden hose-end weed killer sprayer next year right like those Weed B Gone?MorpheusPA wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2020, 8:12 pmWhile a pound was, perhaps, a tad high for pause-time, you can simply consider it your winterizer and just call yourself done for the year. Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
If you need to. Teeny weeds could be annuals, which won't survive November, much less the winter, or perennials, which may or may not survive the winter since they sprouted late.
Next April is more than enough time to worry about them at this point. If they're teeny, they're not eating much.

Re: How much fertilizer should I put down now
Without a picture of the "tiny weeds", it's not possible to be sure, but many newly-germinated lawns show tiny dicots (two-leaf plants) that simply disappear as the grass starts to mature a bit. They just don't compete well as the grass thickens and they're often just forgotten as things develop.I forgot to say, I saw hundreds of tiny weeds.
