End O' The Road

Post by MorpheusPA » November 21st, 2020, 11:18 pm

Kinda. I fed with Vigoro Super Green (yes, lots of slow-release N, but that's OK here in Never Past Ground Freeze Land), and read on... then mowed to knock off up to 3/4" of grass, plus pick up the pellets that would suck up and knock them apart (so much for slow release, that just became fast release nitrogen!)

That's kind of a wrap for the season. And a grand total of 6.12 pounds of nitrogen per thousand square feet over this season. Actually, a little low.

I'm dropping my urea tomorrow ahead of the rain and it's a wrap here in my end of South Central PA too.

With that beautiful rain we have tomorrow night, it makes perfect sense. And temps look to be dropping Thanksgiving week, so I figured it was time. I don't like feeding when it's 40° out there. I freeze my tuchus off.

Morph, your grass done growing? I clipped a little bit last now but I’m expecting it to be done this week. Traditionally around tday for me. Monday’s rain is quite enticing for my final app

Pretty close, it seems. Yesterday was sixty, today 58, but it looks to drop. Sunlight is limited, though.

Growth is slow. I mowed a week ago, I don't need to do it again, but I'll do some cleanup on the leaves this weekend anyway before the storm on Monday.

Not much growth here either. Like Morph just going to mulch in the last of the leaves Saturday. we can't drop any fertilizer after Nov 15th-end of Mar. State law.........BUT professionals are allowed to drop until Dec 1st...Maybe I'll call my friend who has a landscaping business. I can watch him put MY fertilizer in MY spreader and walk around MY yard while I have a cup of coffee. Hmmmmmm.

I’m doing mine this Sunday as well, seems to be good timing without gambling on frozen ground or not enough water to water it through.

And what’s the speed limit on Rt 287? I think I saw someone adhere to that once. Not that I’m advocating anything...
