Does Nimblewill Die With Winter Weather?
Does the ever evil Nimblewill die with the cold weather, its seed growing the next season? Or does it go dormant like a grass?

Nimblewill goes dormant over winter, so it's really easy to see in the lawn--it's asleep. It's going to come back in late spring, however, so get rid of it now.
Even if you do...the seed is still there. Lurking. Waiting. Seeking.
It'll be back. Use a pre-emergent.

How can you kill it now? It's below freezing?

Dig it out. Alternately, mark it and wait for late spring, then spray it as soon as it starts to come back. It'll be weak and a little frightened at that point, and an easy target. I like to threaten it a little before I kill it.

I had quite a bit of nimblewill a few years ago and took 90% out with this rake. Then whenever I would walk through the yard I would pull it when I spotted it. It seems to do poorly when challenged. Tenacity is pretty effective against it. In the winter, a uniform layer of snow will bury it and keep it out of sight until spring.

I had it a few years ago and found that I was able to get rid of it my raking it with the thatch rake during the winter when it was dormant, but when the ground wasn't "frozen solid". It eradicated it in one area that was pretty tough.
